We have 3 unique opportunities to join the shmu team and contribute to the work of an organisation which is making a difference to the lives of individuals and communities; using media creatively to transform lives:

shmu Finance Officer, MAP Community Development Worker and shmu Project Administrator (maternity cover).

 

shmu Finance Officer

37 hours per week, £24,988 - £27,674 (permanent)

The post-holder will work alongside the Chief Executive & Board of Trustees to manage and deliver the financial operations of the Organisation.

Responsibilities will include the delivery of the finance and payroll function of the organisation, preparation of management accounts and delivery of financial reports to the Board, staff team, and to external funders.

MAP Community Development Worker

37 hours per week, £24,988 - £27,674 ((funded by the Fairer Aberdeen Fund, reviewed annually)

MAP supports prisoners in HMP & YOI Grampian to return positively into the community having used media as a unique development platform to address and overcome a range of issues prior to release. The project, a partnership with HMP Grampian, is delivering the first cross-platform, peer-led, Creative Media Unit within a UK prison. The Unit offers a range of innovative opportunities for engagement in radio production, training in all aspects of filmmaking and music technology.

The MAP Community Integration Support Service provides intensive support based on the individual’s Asset Screens and Learning Plans by; engaging effectively with participants; assessing person-centred needs, strengths and aspirations; creating effective paths to success; building and supporting effective links with services and resources in prison and the community; and reviewing the effectiveness of partnerships and shared goals.

The post-holder will develop and provide a coordinated throughcare support package to all participants taking part in the MAP Community Integration Support Service.

Project Administrator (maternity cover)

37 hours per week, £22,074 - £24,221 (fixed post for up to 1 year, with the potential to extend)

This post is an interesting and varied role within a dynamic third sector organisation, providing comprehensive support across the administrative processes; evaluation and monitoring framework; accounts and payroll functions; and the HR administration for the organisation.

The Organisation comprises a range of strands and projects, and the postholder will provide basic administrative support to the Managers of these strands.  This will include administrative support to the MAP project which operates in HMP Grampian, which will require the post-holder to occasionally work in the prison, located in Peterhead.
