57 North Presents: Daily Racket

Local songwriters create a racket on shmuFM

This week on shmuFM, we're delighted to feature local indie/alternative rock band Daily Racket! They will appear live on 57 North Presents on Monday the 22nd of November from 8-10pm.

Daily Racket is a local four-piece rock band formed in 2012. Starting out as an acoustic duo consisting of David Angus and Ally Stewart singing and playing guitar under the name 'Before Cavemen', there were a few name changes which eventually landed on Daily Racket. Later, Daily Racket became a four-piece and have been playing gigs around Aberdeen also as a duo in various bars and venues.

So far the band have released a live session at the Cottage in Aberdeen with two previous members performing on the recordings. As of now the band are about to start work on their first album and are planning gigs which will have the current members performing. David and Ally, writing their own material both individually and together, bring the material to the band to jam along and add new things to until it is a full band song. Daily Racket like beer and pizza, they always bring the party - wherever they play - and plan to expand on places to play at.

If you like what you hear, you can request any of Daily Racket's tracks on any of our live shows by getting in contact with the studio on 01224 483413, by texting 60300 (type SHMU, leave a space and then your message) or by emailing studio@shmu.org.uk. You can also check them out at their Soundcloud.

57° North Presents is repeated every Friday at midnight until 2am on 99.8FM, and you can listen to the show here on our website using the live stream or Listen Again feature.
